皴法起于五代，荆浩皴笔可作浩莽雄奇，成熟于两宋，范宽皴法可作钢打铁铸，米家雨点皴法可见氤氲气象！皴法作为表达中国山水画质感的独特技法，经由千年的流变与沉积，成为画法要义。无论是斧劈皴还是折带皴法，抑或是刮铁皴、雨点皴，并不能把所有的山水体貌都做出一一对应的表达。
