1979年拜肖禹川老师学书法。

1982年参加西藏首届职工书画大赛获一等奖 。

1983年在西藏参加“瑞士国际技术咨询”活动，对西藏羊湖水电站进行综合论证。

1985年开发龙泉湖游乐大世界，任规划设计施工及后勤总管。

1986年获四川省简阳市首届书画大赛隶书第一名，同年拜尧文藻老师学古山水，拜李果青老师学书法，还参加河南书法函授院学习。

1987年在江苏无锡书法艺专函授学习毕业，参加四川省简阳市美术摄影展，并获全国摄影大赛优秀奖。

In 1979, Xiao Xiao Yu studied calligraphy.

2017年6月应邀参加笔墨中国——中国书画世界行第七次赴俄罗斯交流展获大奖，作品被圣彼得堡文化宫收藏。

2017年11月“第三届国际书画节”获百杰书画家奖，作品被美国夏威夷州长及檀香山市长收藏。

2018年4月经中南海国礼中心专家委员会评选认定，被授予“国礼艺术大师”荣誉称号。

2018年10月承办翰墨万绿湖--第12届中韩·首届中法国际书画交流展

In March 2017, he was invited to attend the Third Sino-Philippine Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition held in Manila, Philippines, and was awarded the title of "Ambassador for Sino-Philippine Cultural Exchange". The works were collected by the president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

In June 2017, he was invited to participate in the 7th World Bank of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting to Russia Exchange Exhibition and won the Grand Prize. His works were collected by St. Petersburg Cultural Palace.

In November 2017, the Third International Calligraphy and Painting Festival was awarded the Baijie Prize for Calligraphy and Painting, and its works were collected by the Governor of Hawaii and the Mayor of Honolulu.

In April 2018, he was awarded the honorary title of "Master of National Rite Art" by the Expert Committee of Zhongnanhai National Rite Center.

In October 2018, the twelfth China Korea first Sino French international painting and calligraphy exchange exhibition was held.
