Venice, Italy, July 17, 2026 - Dao of Drawing (绘道), an independent art system founded by artist Xinghong Wang, officially makes its debut today at the Venice contemporary art exhibition VISIONS - ANIMA MUNDI 2026.

VISIONS - ANIMA MUNDI, meaning "World Soul," is one of ITSLIQUID's major ongoing international exhibition projects. Through long-term bodily practice, he came to understand that a completed human action itself can possess strong aesthetic power and significant artistic value.

This experience led him to reconsider a fundamental question in drawing:

Does the artistic value of drawing reside in the final image, or in the completed human action that brings the work into existence?

Dao of Drawing emerged from this ongoing inquiry.

Dao of Drawing holds that both the result of drawing and the act of drawing possess artistic value. They are not mutually exclusive; together, they form important dimensions of the art of drawing.

However, they do not hold the same ontological position.
绘道将已经完成的作画行动定义为作品本体。
Dao of Drawing defines the completed act of drawing as the ontological basis of the artwork.

Visible images, physical traces, documentation, and titles may accompany the artwork and may each carry artistic value. Yet they do not determine the existence of the work. They remain secondary to the completed act of drawing.

Therefore, Dao of Drawing does not deny the image. Rather, while respecting the historical development of painting and drawing, it reconsiders the conditions under which drawing becomes an artwork.

As an important practice within both No Image and Sky as Canvas, DD-0002 presents an extremely rare form of drawing: the work contains no final image, no traditional canvas, no preserved physical trace, and no video documentation. What viewers encounter is not an image, but an artwork constituted by the completed act of drawing itself.

About the Artist
王行洪（Xinghong Wang）是艺术家、绘道（Dao of Drawing）创立者，也是传统武术宗师。
Xinghong Wang is an artist, the founder of Dao of Drawing, and a master of traditional martial arts.
他的艺术思想源于四十余年的传统武术训练与身体实践。长期的行动修炼，使他逐渐形成了关于人类行动完整性、完成性、美感及其内在艺术价值的持续思考，并最终创立了独立艺术体系——绘道（Dao of Drawing）。
His artistic thought originates from more than four decades of traditional martial arts training and bodily practice. Through long-term cultivation of action, he gradually developed a sustained reflection on the integrity, completion, aesthetic power, and inherent artistic value of human action, ultimately founding the independent art system Dao of Drawing.
王行洪同时创立了武术体系“真极武道”以及“王家太极道”，并担任国际武术协会执行副主席。
Wang is also the founder of the martial arts systems Zhen Ji Wu Dao and Wang Family Taiji Dao, and serves as Executive Vice President of the International Wushu Association.
现在生活和工作于美国。
He currently lives and works in the United States.
