2017年庆祝香港回归祖国20周年，王宇鸣创作的《紫荆花》特别摆放在香港市政厅展厅中央，凸显了香港回归祖国的历史意义，王宇鸣为此荣获香港回归祖国20周年紫荆花特别贡献大奖。
